(Fort McMurray, AB –October 11, 2017) The Wood Buffalo Community Foundation(WBCF) is pleased to announce the appointment of six additional directors to its current board of six. The new directors are: Nicole Bourque Bouchier, CEO and co-owner of the Bouchier Group; Doreen Cole, senior vice president, regional maintenance and reliability at Suncor Energy; Glen Finnson, vice president of environment, health, safety and security at Syncrude Canada Ltd.; Corie Flett, a partner with Cooper and Company law firm; Peter Fortna, principal consultant at Willow Springs Strategic Solutions; and Dr. Tom Lawley, recently retired medical director of health at Syncrude Canada Ltd.
“Our new directors add valuable local knowledge and experience to the board, “said WBCF chair Maureen Cormier Jackson “They will ensure we are collaborating with other funders and addressing the highest priority issues in the Wood Buffalo region as we work to fulfill our mission and mandate.”
The WBCF is a registered Canadian charity that accepts donations and provides grants to charities and qualified donees in the Wood Buffalo region. Our mission is to enhance quality of life in the region by supporting community members and organizations in building long term, mutually beneficial relationships between donors and grantees. We provide grants to improve and enhance the stability and sustainability of the community.
