TO INSPIRE ALL GIRLS TO BE STRONG, SMART AND BOLD.

Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta is the only non-profit organization in the Wood Buffalo region providing gender-specific programming with a mission to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold.

We do what we do because we know each girl experiences unique layers of challenges differently in different magnitudes, and that girls’ rights, opportunities and potentials need to be recognized, respected and acted upon. By contributing to the Fund, YOU can be the one to make a difference in a girl’s – and the world’s – future.

TOWARDS A DIVERSE, EQUITABLE AND INCLUSIVE SOCIETY WHERE  ALL GIRLS CAN THRIVE.

We envision a world in which all girls value their whole selves, discover their inherent strengths and achieve their goals. We are committed to working towards a diverse, equitable and inclusive society where all girls can thrive.

When we say all girls, we mean all girls. Many girls need tools and opportunities to realize their tremendous potential, particularly girls of racialized bodies, visible minority, 2SLGBTQQIA+, with disabilities, in underserved communities, and from families with low socio-economic status.

Providing a gift to this fund will help ensure that we continue to provide cost-free programming to equip all girls in the region with the knowledge, skills and access needed to break free from gender stereotypes, create social change and be proud of who they are.

Our innovative, research-based, preventative, age-appropriate and transformational programs encompass Healthy-Active Living (STRONG), Knowledge Enrichment (SMART) and Informed Life Skills (BOLD), facilitated in a gender-sensitive, safe and inclusive learning environment. We champion our mission through events like the Women of Inspiration Celebration where we honour and celebrate outstanding women of the Wood Buffalo region while advocating for girls’ and women’s empowerment, such as via scholarships.

We are here for girls. By supporting Girls Inc., YOU are making a direct impact in addressing deeply ingrained gender inequality, ensuring our programming remains cost-free, fostering outreach efforts, enhancing partnerships and collaborative programs so that all girls can become agents of change and future leaders.

Take a sneak peek at the kinds of positive difference YOU can make in girls like:

  • Vasundhara who says Girls Inc. taught her that you are never alone, and you will always have someone by your side. She says Girls Inc. can teach other girls how to love themselves. She credits Girls Inc. for helping her keep her smile.

  • Urvi who says she loves Girls Inc. because they help you open up your feelings and remind you about self-love and confidence. She says she used to be very shy and self-conscious. Since joining Girls Inc., she has learned to love herself no matter what. Her favourite part of Girls Inc. is that everyone respects everyone and encourages each other.

Take an action today to make a direct impact in inspiring all girls to be strong, smart and bold, so that, together, we can work towards diversity, equity, inclusion, safety and peace – locally and beyond.
