“St. Aidan’s Society is a social profit organization based in Fort McMurray Alberta. Founded in 1973, our focus is to serve, empower and unlock the potential with our programs and community partnerships.”

The St. Aidan’s House Society Fund was established for the long term sustainability of current and future programming for seniors in Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo.

Age Friendly Communities

We are bringing our long standing history of service delivery and advocacy to an exciting initiative; being part of establishing Fort McMurray as an Age Friendly community under the standards of the World Health Organization.

Age Friendly communities help our seniors live fuller, more active and healthier lives. Age friendly communities help prevent the neglect and abuse of older adults and increase the safety and wellbeing of seniors. An age friendly community fosters inclusion, fights ageism and provides equal opportunity for participation in community life.

Providing a gift to this Fund will support initiatives such as seniors outreach; programming and events for seniors; advocating for seniors rights and accessibility; creating partnerships and collaborative programs that enhance the lives of seniors; etc.
