Enhancing Mental Health & Community Resiliency in Wood Buffalo

The 2025 Grant Cycle will support programs and initiatives that enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the Wood Buffalo region, while fostering both individual and community resilience.

Resilience as the Capacity to Adapt and Recover: The ability of individuals, organizations, or communities to withstand stressors or disruption and bounce back—often stronger—through adaptation, recovery, and learning.

  • Resilience as a Process of Ongoing Well-being: A continuous and dynamic process of maintaining mental, physical, emotional, and social balance, even in the face of prolonged or repeated challenges.

  • Resilience as Readiness and Resourcefulness: The preparedness to face uncertainty by drawing on inner strengths, supportive networks, and practical tools to navigate hardship and foster long-term sustainability.

WBCF will host drop-in information sessions in August (virtual and in-person) for questions about the grant theme, application process and budget.
